Fork Yeah ("we", "our", or "us") is a restaurant matching application operated at fork-yeah.ca. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information you provide directly:

• Your first name (stored locally on your device only, never sent to our servers)
• Your email address if you join our waitlist or contact us
• Your general location (city/region) when creating a group session — used solely to find nearby restaurants

Information collected automatically:

• Browser type and device information (standard web server logs)
• Pages visited and time spent (anonymous analytics)
• IP address (used for fraud prevention and security only)

Information we do NOT collect:

• Payment card details (handled entirely by Stripe — we never see your card number)
• Precise GPS coordinates stored on our servers (used only transiently to search nearby restaurants)
• Personal profiles or accounts (no sign-up required to use the app)

• To provide the core restaurant matching service
• To search for restaurants near your chosen location using Google Maps / Places API
• To process premium upgrade payments via Stripe
• To send waitlist updates if you opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To improve the app and fix bugs
• To comply with legal obligations

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Maps / Places API — used to find restaurants near your location. Google's Privacy Policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
• Stripe — used to process payments for the ad-free upgrade. Stripe's Privacy Policy applies: stripe.com/privacy
• Base44 — our hosting and backend platform. Their Privacy Policy applies: base44.com/privacy

Group sessions and swipe data are stored temporarily to enable the matching experience and are automatically purged after 48 hours of inactivity. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request deletion. Your name preference is stored only on your own device in browser localStorage and is never transmitted to our servers.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to remember your name preference and whether you've completed onboarding. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. If we use any analytics cookies in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent where required.

Fork Yeah is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
